La Perla Tucked away in the heart of Covent Garden you'll find La Perla. A themed Mexican bar and restaurant mostly frequented by regulars from surrounding businesses. It's extensive range of tequilas and mezcals and long list of cocktails makes this place a haven for those who take their drinking seriously! We decided to have dinner there and started off with Nachos Rancheros - corn chips covered in cheese, sauce, cream and other toppings - these were a bit too fussy for my liking. We then had the chilli swordfish fajitas, dramatically presented on a sizzling platter. The food was fine but a lot of the authenticity was lost in trying to please the masses! The wine list was good, boasting a range of South American favourites and a selection of Mexican beer. The waiters and bar staff were friendly and the atmosphere was buzzing. We had a fun evening, but I think next time I go, I'll stick to the Margaritas and forego the nachos!
